SI Training and Meeting Information
The SI trainings are a fun and collaborative way for our SI leaders to learn and practice key elements of the UMKC SI Model. Our mandatory training meetings are scheduled once a week. Leaders will find that training meetings are full of resources and ideas to help them create the best sessions for their students. All training meetings are designed to imitate SI sessions using the SI model as the course content.
Virtual SI Training Transition
To ensure the safety of the Leaders and staff, as well as compliance with state and health guidelines, the Mt. San Jacinto College SI program has moved all trainings to a virtual setting. All mandatory trainings will be delievered via Zoom for the Fall 2020 semester. SI Leaders should refer to the SI Leader Program Canvas shell for detailed information and dates for the Fall 2020 trainings.
In an effort to provide quality training of program requiremnts and SI Leader development, the SI Coordinator, supporting staff, and SI Leaders, worked tirelessly to transform the collaborative, traditionally in-person training to a virtual platform. For the first time in the history at Mt. San Jacinto College, the SI Program delivered the first 100% on-line orientation prior to the start of the semester. The robust training provided new and returning leaders an opportunity to explore and develop skills to ensure the engagment and collaboration was not lost in the on-line setting.
